Kim is a veteran of the US Air Force as a security policeman, graduate of Community College of the Air Force, Reading Area Community College and Alvernia University, with degrees in Criminal Justice Administration and Security Administration. Kim was a Corrections Supervisor at Berks County Prison for 14 years and was a supervisor of the Nuclear Security Team at Pennsylvania's Limerick Generating Station.
